Calaverita Dynamic Día de Muertos 2026 Your creativity could take you on a trip

This Día de Muertos, Grupo Camino Real celebrates one of Mexico's most beloved traditions: the calaverita literaria. Write yours with humor and rhyme, and you could win one of 5 double-night stays. Find the full details below.

How to Participate

 Follow the three official Instagram accounts of our brands: 

 @hotelescaminoreal  @hotelesquintareal  @hotelesrealinn

 Submit your calaverita literaria (a traditional Day of the Dead poetic tribute) through the form on our website. Your entry must mention at least one of our brands: Camino Real, Quinta Real and/or Real Inn. It must be an original calaverita written without the use of Artificial Intelligence. Theme and length are open.

 The submission period runs from October 5th through October 23rd, 2026 until 23:59 h (GMT-6).

 An internal jury from Grupo Camino Real will select the 20 best calaveritas based on compliance with requirements, literary structure, creativity, and originality, as well as appropriate use of the traditional calaverita humorous tone, free of offensive, discriminatory, or violent content.

 The 20 selected finalists will be notified via Instagram Direct Message from the @hotelescaminoreal account. Additionally, they will receive an email at the address registered in the form.

 The 20 finalists will participate in a trivia that will determine the 5 winners.

 The trivia will be sent via email to the 20 finalists on October 29th, 2026 at 12:00 h (GMT-6). Finalists will have only until October 29th, 2026 at 23:59 h to submit their answers.

 The 5 participants who answer correctly first will be the winners.

 The winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th place) will be announced on the Instagram Stories of @hotelescaminoreal on October 30th, 2026, and will additionally be notified via email.

 The 5 winning calaveritas will be published on the official Grupo Camino Real blog (https://www.grupocaminoreal.com/blog).

 

Write Your Calaverita

Terms & Conditions

 Only individuals 18 years of age or older may participate.

 One calaverita per participant is allowed (one submission per person via the form).

 Calaveritas generated totally or partially by artificial intelligence will not be valid. All entries will be subject to review by the organizing team, and those identified as AI-generated will be automatically disqualified.

 The jury's decision is final and binding. The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any calaverita that does not meet the participation requirements at any stage of the Contest.

 In the event that fewer than 5 finalists answer the trivia correctly within the established timeframe, the Organizer may, at their sole discretion, declare winners only those who responded correctly, with the remaining spots going unawarded.

 By participating in the Contest, the participant represents that the submitted calaverita is their own original work and grants Grupo Camino Real a non-exclusive, royalty-free, indefinite license to reproduce, publish, and distribute their calaverita (as well as, where applicable, their name and/or Instagram username) on  Grupo Camino Real's official blog and its brands' digital channels, for promotional purposes related to the Contest.

 The 5 winners must confirm in writing (via email) their consent for said publication as a condition to validate their place as winners.

 Winners must provide the following by November 20th, 2026 at the latest:

  1. Valid government-issued photo ID.
  2. Selected hotel and preferred stay dates.

 Prizes are valid from December 1st, 2026 through May 31st, 2027, subject to availability. Not applicable during long weekends, Holy Week, Easter Week, public holidays, Christmas, and New Year's.

 Grupo Vazol employees and winners from previous years are not eligible to participate.

 Participation is open to residents of any state in the Mexican Republic; however, the prize is only redeemable at participating hotels.

 Transportation and any additional travel expenses are the sole responsibility of the winner. Grupo Camino Real is not responsible for such costs.

 The prize is non-transferable, non-negotiable, and not redeemable for cash.

 Participation implies authorizing Grupo Camino Real to share and distribute the calaveritas literarias and/or winners' information on the official blog, social media, and other communication channels of Grupo Camino Real.

 Participation in this contest constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.
