A Stroll Through the Historic Center

Wander through the streets of its Historic Center, enjoy a coffee, and don’t forget to visit the Cathedral of Zacatecas, declared a World Heritage Site. Its construction was completed in 1772, and it is dedicated to the Virgin of the Assumption.

A Visit to Mina del Edén

The Edén Mine is one of the must-see places in Zacatecas, where you’ll learn more about the city’s history and what life was like for the miners. You’ll also see an exhibition of precious minerals. The tour stretches for two kilometers beneath Cerro del Grillo, but don’t worry—you can take a small train.

A Day at La Quemada

This archaeological site is just 40 minutes from Zacatecas and holds great cultural and historical significance. Its name comes from the burned remains found here many years ago. You can visit La Quemada during the day or at night, but if you prefer a nighttime outing, once a month they host a Stargazing Night, one of the most magical experiences to share as a couple while watching the sky.

Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Admission: $70 MXN per person, approximately.

The View from Cerro de la Bufa

From here, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the city. To get to the top, you can take the cable car from the Edén Mine for the full experience. Don’t miss a single detail of the surrounding nature—the views are spectacular.

If you’re into extreme sports, you can also try the zipline connecting Cerro de la Bufa with Caolín. And for a calmer plan afterward, visit the Museo de la Toma de Zacatecas located right there.

Shopping at the Centro Platero Artesanal

If you want to treat yourselves to something special, this is the perfect spot. Here you’ll find beautiful silver pieces and handcrafted items that make for unique keepsakes.

Opening hours: Monday to Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

An Afternoon at the Rafael Coronel Museum

This stunning site is located in the former San Francisco Temple and Convent, and is considered one of Zacatecas’ main attractions. It houses the world’s largest mask collection (16,000 pieces), along with displays of puppets, musical instruments, colonial terracottas, and works by renowned artists such as Rafael Coronel and Diego Rivera.

Opening hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday–Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Admission: $30 MXN per person, approximately.
