Monterrey is a city filled with entertainment options, but the most beloved spot for a nature escape is the Cola de Caballo Ecotourism Park.
Located south of the capital of Nuevo León, this natural area has become a favorite Sunday gathering place for families thanks to the wide range of activities available.
One of the most popular things to do is enjoy a delicious “carne asada” at the picnic tables and grills on-site. There are also shaded rest areas perfect for relaxing after a good meal.
Hiking trails, zip lines, wildlife sightings, and hanging bridges are part of the outdoor activities offered at Cola de Caballo Ecotourism Park—ideal for adrenaline lovers and nature enthusiasts alike.
The park’s star attraction, which draws thousands of visitors every year, is the IBO Roller Zip, a hybrid between a zip line and a roller coaster that sweeps you through the lush vegetation.
This 500-meter ride operates year-round and delivers thrills comparable to amusement-park rides with its climbs, drops, and curves. It’s suitable for all ages.
Of course, the true jewel of the park is the Cola de Caballo Waterfall, a 25-meter cascade whose shape resembles a horse’s tail.
