Peña del Cuervo: The stunning natural lookout near Pachuca

Peña del Cuervo is a natural viewpoint located at the top of one of the mountains surrounding the Magical Town of Mineral del Chico in Hidalgo. It lies within the protected area of Parque Nacional El Chico and rises 2,770 meters above sea level, offering majestic views from every angle.

To reach the summit, you’ll climb a stone staircase, which makes the journey safer and easier. At the top, you’ll find a circular platform with breathtaking panoramic views—you’ll see endless trees, rocky formations, and an open sky. If you stay until sunset, the scenery will captivate you so much that you’ll want to return again and again.

The place is completely safe, but it’s best to bring sunscreen and warm clothing. Inside Parque Nacional El Chico, you can also enjoy extreme sports such as rappelling, hiking, and sport fishing.

Try “La Tachuela”

Your visit to Mineral del Chico wouldn’t be complete without trying “La Tachuela”, a local drink made with wild herbs and fruits. Its name (“the tack”) comes from the metal studs miners placed on their shoe soles to prevent accidents underground.
